My Heart's Moth DanceI always loved,
Butterflies.
I wanted them to
Be born in my stomach,
Unexpectedly.
I wanted to feel,
Their fragile wings
Flutter inside.

And so they did.
But they were too frightened
to escape.
My voice became thin air.
And I,
wanted my heart to fly
So it could tell you...
That you're the meaning,
of love.
Hope.
Life.
Light.

I never really understood
Moths.
They were like my words,
Tripping over
In my voice,
Stuttering and stammering,
But you came along,
And moths
born in my heart,
Pushed all my words,
Out of my mouth
In rambles of
Beauty.

You have shown me,
How special moths are,
Your eyes shone the light

History Is Never Made By Those Who BehaveWe are taught of former glories
The burden of our history
Weighs heavy on infant shoulders
As it does our enemies

But I feel safe and protected
On this the day of the Moon
Unlike the remaining six days
When impending horror consumes

Wind chill woes on the moors this morn
Freedom spoke in a foreign tongue
I did not understand her chants
Percussion did not help her song

The stench of death, the drums of war
In time with the beat my heart gave
History is never written
By the flocks that choose to behave

So raise hell but come together
Unite as we are all the same
Keep the lion's heart within you
Your fiery temper learn to tame

The Rose and The MoonshineThe chaos is here forever
Still waters are long since gone
The two of us tread water
Embrace till we become one

I am the stronger swimmer
You cling your arms round my neck
Not knowing you're the strong one
I'm as weak as I am wet

We wait for the pitch darkness
The moon shines upon the sea
Illuminates not only our love
But our hopes and dreams

We gaze upon it in hope
As salt water stings our eyes
Driftng in time with the waves
As the moon slows down the tide

The swell comes to a standstill
One kiss to wake you from sleep
Perhaps the miracle before us
Has escaped from your dreams

Hanging on to each other
From the sea we beg

Never Back DownYou stitched my lips today
So I could not speak
I sliced my slender throat
So I could still breathe

Dowsed acid in my eyes
So I could not see
But I reached out to touch her
She in turn touched me

You cut my ears today
I hear no birds sing
Or an infant's laughter
And the joy that brings

You bound my wrists and hands
Now they are red raw
I should blindly stumble
But still I stand tall

You sliced my fingertips
I can't feel her skin
The softness of her hair
The barrel of my pen

You broke my legs in two
Now I cannot walk
Nor can I see or hear
Feel or talk

You did all of these things
To keep me quiet
Yet the passion that

You Are Now GonePerhaps you were my oxygen
As without you I cannot breathe
Stars reminded me of your eyes
My love, why did you have to leave?

So out of the blue you left me
In to black my fragile heart broke
A thousand lost words were exchanged
Yet not one single word was spoke

I'm focusing on my time piece
I've given you peace for some time
Though love is clearly black and white
Friendship is harder to define

It's the shades of grey that haunt me
Those seeds of love we didn't sow
The memories we never made
Our bloom that has refused to grow

The pressure I feel without you
This volcano shall soon erupt
But I will implode silently

Minimal signs of life
But no more and no less
Than of a parasite

Feeding from a life-force
That's greater than itself
We are the lost children
In need of some help

X-ray images show
The absence of a heart
Incapable of love

All these forgotten girls

Just no memory recall

This lethal dose
Screaming paralytic
From beneath your bones

Not even in your eyes

Bring your pretty face

The Artist and The ModelShe posed for the artist to paint her
She sat so perfectly still
A tremble came across her body
That was way beyond her will

"For that, my dear" said the artist
"I'll paint your blue eyes shut
Forever you'll be cast into darkness
Before you return to dust"

The subject, the model, the lady
Laughed and was not so fussed
"You think you have such power, my dear
In the stroke of your brush?

Don't forget it is I, your subject
That brings beauty to your piece
Without me you would be nothing;
A lush drunk on self belief"

With that the artist grabbed his palette
Ferociously began to paint
Till fatigue encapsulated his bones
And he b

Every Time With The Same BrushEvery time with the same brush
This girl paints so many strokes
Each one speaking of emotions
Louder than the words she wrote

So where does the magic lie,
Allowing this girl's mood to swing?
Is it in the paint or the colours,
The feeling of release it brings?

She lets go of those emotions
That are too painful to express
The open ear of a loved one
Now an empty white canvas

Cathartic is the process
With her dainty little strokes
Thick layers of paint will take us
To land's nobody else knows

Now she paints with love for us
And happiness in her heart
The trees, the flowers, the sunset
The smiles, the eyes, the stars

But I'm afraid it just wont do
No notes that I play could compare
To the symphony that is you

So who is the orchestrator
Of this harmonic elegance
The beauty of which sustains me
With such a lasting resonance

Angels, please sing us a chorus
And paint the clouds so silver lined
May she always dream in colour
And may I always speak in rhyme
One single whispered word from her
Always seems to eclipse my pain
With belief, hope and destiny
Forever in love, I remain

Tidy Little BoxesEverything in tidy little boxes
All of my memories are pigeon holed
One section left vacant for all the dreams
A million for the dreams that they stole

All the boxes with perfect right angles
Protractor now set to ninety degrees
With such rigid habits I wont survive
Please will you come and make a mess of me

Everything in tidy little boxes
While your dreams remain scattered on the floor
It's best that way, mine are hidden away
And stay so very easily ignored

All the boxes are stacked up together
So high one day they will surely fall down
Either that or they will be stacked so high
They'll encompass, suffocate and surround

A Troubled 15 Year OldFather has a lady friend
Of ill gotten gains
Sells her body for money
A handful of change
There will be no benefit
For my family
On hotel bedside tables
You'll find our money

Mother has a habit
Leaves needles lying around
Down the side of the sofa
Where infant hands slide down
Hoping to find some money
A handful of change
A perfect family portrait
And I am the frame

A troubled fifteen year old
Born under a bad sign
I learnt like most children
To cry before I smiled
In time my smile will fade
Though the tears will remain
I fear for the things I will lose
Before my family change

The BirdsBreathe in and think of love
Breathe out and think of pain
Listen to the feeling in your heart
Not the voices in your brain

Hark the wind blowing through the trees
Ignore the dirge of modern life
Use your ears to hear the birds
and with them let your worries take flight

Glide upon the pockets of wind
Wherever the breeze shall take you
Make the journey beautiful
Rather than the place you wish to get to

Breathe in and think of the future
Breathe out and forget the past
I know the pain seems never ending
But such dismal days will not last

Hear my whispered words softly
Stirring emotions in your heart
I will offer my hand, my lo

Whatever Is To DoWe were ever so worried
When we found the knotted noose
And scribbled diary entries
With tales of self abuse

Teenage tears and tantrums
Can easily be explained
But what on earth would cause these
Freshly dripped blood stains

When you locked yourself in your room
Painted the walls pitch black
And ignorantly we assumed

That this was just a phase
That it would soon come to pass
And pass it indeed did do
Far too soon and far too fast

Take My Blood InsteadEvery morning without fail
I wake up at 5 o'clock
My bones are aware of something
Of which my mind is not

They tell me to move forward
Propelling me from my bed
Don't drain me of ambition
Please take my blood instead

The sun shines on where I lay
Characters in place, stage is set
What'll fate offer me today

Mister mundane mumbles
From his melancholic head
Don't rob me of the sunlight

You allowed my presence
To be your malady
So fragile in essence
With vulnerability

The last of the letters
Has finally been sent
No newspaper cuttings
Just these feelings to vent

Alone in my abode
At the dining room table
I relinquish romance
To the realms of fable

The time of no reply
Holds sway over my life
Fork for food, spoon for sauce
Redundant is my knife

Arrogant ignorance
Have you forgot my name
Watch from your widow's walk
As you drench me in shame

Out to sea, out of sight
You cast my memory
I'll run aground on the shores
